Alkaline Water Co, Inc. (OTCBB:WTER) Keeps Levels on Distribution PR Message

Robust distribution is again the main message of the new press release of Alkaline Water Co, Inc. (OTCBB:WTER). The ticker rose tentatively by 1.4% on Monday, standing at 62 cents on buying volumes above $729,000. Despite the dark forebodings, for now WTER is keeping up the levels, so far. WTER0827.png

Now, WTER will ride the distribution chain ensured by United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI), a distributor specialized in organic products and food supplements. But this still leaves the question of how WTER will fare once its 3-liter jugs hit the supermarket shelves. Still, WTER may be benefitting from US-wide distribution.BIZM0827.png

Financially, WTER is not too much underwater, so far:

  • $384,700 cash
  • $580,662 total assets
  • $37,762 total liabilities
  • No revenues SANB0827.png
  • $70,131 net loss

But the stock may come under pressure soon, if it does not find support like it did in the Monday promotion. Messages about WTER from several pumpers boosted trading levels starting at the beginning of August.

So far, WTER has been taken up by pumpers with a relatively short history of picks, tending toward higher-quality companies that have more reasonable support levels. Still, the stocks selected by Penny Stocks Forever hardly last forever. This promoter took up Biozoom, Inc. (OTCMKTS:BIZM), the infamous ticker that got suspended for overzealous promotion and still bears the skull and bones on the OTC Markets profile page. Now BIZM picks up the pieces at a tenth of the price during the promotion.

And Sanborn Resources, Ltd. (OTCMKTS:SANB) is no better, swinging up and down in its curious W-shaped graph, only to burrow down to a fifth of its price.

So if you are still happy about WTER, keep in mind that the period of promotion may be keeping up a ticker in an unnatural range, and losses above 75% of value are quite normal and expected. At 62 cents, this penny ticker has a long way to fall, so plan the size of your investment with the potential drops in mind.

WTER may find some support if the promotional emails and PR materials appear every few days, but if the company has achieved its aims, the ticker may be a closed chapter for a shorter or a longer period, similar to SANB.
