Bluforest, Inc. (OTCMKTS:BLUF) Falls Despite Growing Promotion

Too much of a good thing starts to have the reverse effect, and in the case of Bluforest, Inc. (OTCMKTS:BLUF) the big and expensive promotion is starting to cause as much selling interest as it causes buying. On Tuesday, BLUF slid down more than 16% to $1.49, on volumes above $920,000. 2BLUF0812.png

Already 99 mails were sent out for this ticker, and the total budget topped $400,000, as new pumpers joined in. Gain the Green received as much as Market Bulls, $200,000, with many lesser mailers spreading the fame. Still, BLUF has depleted its charm, and now struggles to keep a price a bit too high for a hot penny stock, nearly $1.50. BLUF certainly could not hold on well to the $2 levels, and the intra-day peak of $2.10. BBLU0812.png

Along with promotional emails, BLUF is active with press releases outlining a bright future for its business. More precisely, BLUF claims that large European banks are interested in the $40 billion carbon trading industry in California, but the penny stock company does not specify what faction of this money it could possibly reach. And for the banks themselves, it is still a tentative opportunity.

While BLUF indeed controls some Ecuadorian forest properties, it still has not licensed the carbon offset potential, and so far has not sold any offsets. Thus, the balance sheet looks loaded with negatives:

  • $43 cash
  • $17 210 total current assets
  • $3.2 million total current liabilities
  • ZERO revenues since inception
  • $24 million net loss

And since inception, the company sank more cash than carbon- around $300 million in losses.

Even at a lower level, BLUF could find hopeful investors that could even enjoy the lower price as an opportunity for a new jump. But a stock that has increased sevenfold since the beginning of 2013 already seems precarious.

Looking at environmental projects, Blue Earth, Inc. (OTCMKTS:BBLU) is yet another active contender, though one making a longer, easier to recognize trend. The stock reached a recent peak of $3.75, but now drifts sideways around $2.55, as the effect of promotions has worn out.

While environmental issues may be good business, in the case of penny stocks they are mostly used as hype, so it is best to do your own research of the quality of the company before you choose to follow a fast-moving ticker.
