Cover On Approach

A cover on approach involves the closing out of a gaining short position as the stock moves towards a certain level of support, where the short trade has smaller chances of success. Key levels of support often provide limits for how far prices can fall, if investors sell before the security gets to the support level, they are limiting their gains.
