Daily Trading Limit

The daily trading limit is the maximum profit or loss on an option, a futures contract and other forms of derivative contracts. The limit is imposed by the exchanges to avoid extreme volatility or intra-market manipulation. A locked market is one where the daily trading limits have been reached, and usually signals a halt to any trades that break the threshold. It can also close the trading for that particular stock or security.
