Fibonacci Numbers/Lines

In technical analysis, Fibonacci number lines are more often interpreted to determine changes in trends. Leonardo Fibonacci, an Italian mathematician, discovered the "Fibonacci numbers," a series of numbers wherein each successive number is the sum of the two previous numbers, e.g. 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, etc. As a result, any given number is around 1.618 times the previous number. The four most widely-used Fibonacci studies in technical analysis are arcs, retracements, fans, and time zones.
