Bull Market

A bull market is a financial market of a group of stocks or securities wherein prices are rising or are forecasted to rise. While often associated with the stock market, a bull market may be applied to bonds, currencies, commodities--basically anything that is traded. It is characterized by investor confidence and expections, as well as optimism that the upward trend will continue. The use of the word "bull" to describe such as market comes from the way a bull attacks its foes: thrusting its horns up. The action thus became a metaphor for the upward movement of a market.
