Pattern Day Trader

A pattern day trader is one who buys or sells the same security more than three times per day over a five-day period. To be considered as a pattern day trader, the same-day trades should make up more than 6% of one's activity for the same period. A pattern day trader is required to have more than US$25,000 in equity in one's account to ensure that clients cover any previous day's losses.
