Up-Market Capture Ratio

The up-market capture ratio is a statistical gauge of an investment manager's general performance in up-markets. This is used to determine whether the manager outperformed the index during the time when the market has risen by taking the manager's returns and dividing it by the returns of the index and then multiplying it by 100. A ratio of 100 or more means that the manager has outpeformed the index.
